How to Get Taller: The 5 Deadly Myths…
Dear reader,
During the time I was doing research on how to get taller, I chanced upon a few sites that highlighted a few myths on getting taller, which I thought was interesting (and funny sometimes)…
Myth #1: Jumping makes you taller
In fact, this is the most common misconception that has been floating around for centuries! And I can connect with it totally. I mean, I've been playing basketball for years but I was only 5 inches!
Truth: Jumping doesn't make you taller. And if it does, it's exercise that did the trick. In fact if you ask me one tip on how to get taller, I'd tell you this: Exercise is the best way. Why? Because it increases oxygen flow to your bones and promotes their growth.
Myth #2: You can't grow taller after you get past puberty
Ah ha, I struggled with this myth big-time! Until and unless you can get past this myth and open your mind to ideas, you'll never see the possibilities of increasing your height.
Truth: Puberty is one stage in life that everyone suddenly 'magnifies' in height because that's the time when natural growth hormones are raging in our body. And the truth is that these growth hormones are always there in our body, it's just that they are at lower levels compared to puberty (where the question of how to get taller is asked by lesser people).
What this simply means is that we still grow before and after puberty. It's just that the height increase appears slower and more gradual, giving us the perception that we're not growing.
Myth #3: Height is all in the genes…
If that's the case, tall parents should have tall children, shorter parents should have shorter children. But is that the case? No!
I mean, look around you. Chances are that you'll find tall friends who have shorter parents or shorter friends with taller parents.
Truth: There are many other factors that control height. And one of 'how to get taller' answer is diet. Ever wonder why the average person from the Western country has taller heights compared to their Asian counterparts?
Simple. Asian countries have diet mainly with carbohydrates like corn and rice. And the thing about carbohydrate is that although they are high in energy, they are low in vital nutrients that promote body growth. Does this make sense?
Oops… Now before I continue…
You know, I really wanted to list down some interesting bites I came across over my one month of research back then, all in one sitting but I guess that it's probably enough for now.
So what I've done is to break up the interesting bites into a few emails that I've included in the newsletter. If you've not signed up for the newsletter yet, you know what to do… That's right, sign up right now!
Love,
